5th graders had the opportunity to learn from a guest instructor in dance! Necedah Oros with Britza Performing Arts Studio shared her expertise in Hip Hop and Breakdancing.
During their Fall Party, 5th graders worked with candy chromatography. What a great use of Halloween candy! Conducting experiments and making art at the same time!

5th graders shared 2nd drafts of their personal narratives in writing.
CLC celebrated Lights on Afterschool (a national event celebrating Afterschool programs) on Thursday.
Parents and guardians were able to visit and participate in games, art projects and a fun photo area!
5th graders enjoyed learning about Native American hand games in Library.
The lesson and games helped them work on concentration, intuition, social cues, sportsmanship, and respect.
Peaches visited EFA+ on Friday to help us celebrate all of the hard work students put in for the Fun Run!
Mr. Mees gave Peaches a kiss 💋 in front of the entire school
K03 got to spend some extra time with Peaches because they were the top class in fundraising.
The EFA+ and Oh My Cupcakes design for quarter two is Cookie Crumble by Zane!
Cookie Crumble is made of Oreo cake with a salted caramel filling, topped with cookie dough frosting, Oreo crumbles, and edible glitter...YUM!
Cookie Crumble will be sold at the All School Art Show on November 18th.
It will also be available at Oh My Cupcakes during the week of January 6th-11th or by special order.

Students in 401 are working as systems engineers to build wind turbines, in hopes of generating energy for a fictional town, Ergstown.
Ergstown has been experiencing frequent blackouts and they are looking for a solution to prevent these in the future.
Four of our teachers are visiting A+ schools and attending New A+ Teacher Training in Raleigh, North Carolina!
This is part of our ongoing A+ training.

This Friday we will have a visit from Peaches, a Highland Calf from Glean for Good. As a silly celebration for surpassing our Fun Run goal, Mr. Mees will give Peaches a kiss!

The 15th annual Paint the Plow event is this Saturday, October 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Levitt parking lot.
All of the painted plows will be on display and you can vote for your favorite one.
Today we had our 2nd MI Exchange of the year. Students shared a favorite way to use their Body Smart skills and learned about the artist, Keith Haring. Then they used inspiration from Haring's style to create their own active figure on their trading card.
